Here’s a complete roundup of Friday’s Week 4 high school football action from around the state.

Stats and box scores

REGION 1

Davis 49, Clearfield 25

Powered by a dominant first half performance, Davis defeated Clearfield to remain undefeated. The Darts were led by quarterback Chance Trujillo and the playmaking of David Spjut. Trujillo threw for two scores — one to Spjut — and rushed for another touchdown, while Spjut added a 73-yard kick return for a score. Davis outscored Clearfield 35-10 in the first half and then outscored the Falcons 14-0 in the fourth quarter.

Fremont’s defense was simply impenetrable throughout this contest. The Silverwolves’ defense even contributed to the scoring with a 15 yard pick-six by Christian Blanch.

Weber 31, Syracuse 7

After a scoreless first quarter, Weber put up 31 unanswered points to beat Syracuse. Cannon Devries and Gage Lloyd scored on the ground for the Warriors, while Jake Lindsay threw two touchdown passes.

Roy 35, Layton 6

Powered by a 21-point second quarter, Roy took care of business against Layton. The Royals led by only a touchdown after a quarter, but scored 28 unanswered points from there to run away with it. Quarterback Parker Kingston scored three touchdowns, two on the ground while throwing for another. Izzy Gordon and Cooper Valencia also rushed for scores in the Royals’ win.

REGION 2

West 18, Cyprus 7

A 65-yard run from Sesi Vailahi set the tone early for West. The Panthers got a score from kicker Yahir Estrada, and Carson Lopati found Clarence Bird Butler.

West Jordan 35, Hunter 28 (2OT)

West Jordan and Hunter battled into extra time to determine a winner, and it was the Jaguars who came away on top, winning the game in double overtime after Boston Farmer rushed for a 12-yard touchdown. Farmer also threw for a touchdown while rushing for another, leading the way for the Jaguars, who scored in every period save for the third quarter.

Kearns 84, Taylorsville 3

From the opening kickoff this game seemed as if it was already over as Kearns was virtually unstoppable. Cougar quarterback Iosefa Toia’ivao was on fire the whole night, throwing for four touchdowns and consistently hitting his receivers in stride.

REGION 6

Olympus 49, Murray 3

After conceding the first three points of the game, Olympus finished by scoring 49 unanswered points. Olympus’ Max Foulger provided the highlight play of the game with a 65-yard punt return touchdown.

Highland 49, Hillcrest 14

Powered by a 28-point second quarter, Highland ran away with the win over Hillcrest. The Rams outscored the Huskies 35-7 in the first half, propelled by an impressive rushing attack.

REGION 7

Orem 24, Alta 14

Down 14-10 at halftime, Orem stormed back, scoring 14 points in the third quarter for the win. Ethan Jackson threw two touchdown passes. | Full story

Lehi 40, Mountain Ridge 14

Chandler Jenkins rushed for four touchdowns as Lehi scored the final 26 points to pull away from Mountain Ridge for the win in the Region 7 opener. | Full story

REGION 8

Maple Mountain 29, Springville 15

Bryson McQuivey threw for three touchdowns to help Maple Mountain take the win over Springville.

Provo 12, Spanish Fork 7

Thanks to some late-game heroics, Provo defeated Spanish Fork in a defensive slugfest. The Bulldogs scored the go-ahead and game-winning touchdown with nine minutes remaining when quarterback Jace Welsch found Rock Magleby for a 12-yard score. Later in the quarter, the Bulldogs intercepted a pass by Spanish Fork quarterback Zac Dart to seal the win.

REGION 9

Pine View 49, Desert Hills 20

Brayden Bunnell passed for 234 yards and four touchdowns, with three of those going to Preston Mann, who caught five passes for 75 yards as Pine View broke open a close game with a dominant second quarter.

Dixie 35, Hurricane 6

Bronson Barben scored twice on the ground and tossed another two scores while Dixie’s defense shutdown the Hurricane offense. Shea Anderson and Beau McGiven each caught a Barben touchdown pass while Easton Ellett rushed for the other Flyer touchdown. Luke Wright’s nine-yard touchdown reception accounted for the only points of the game for the Tigers.

Cedar City 37, Crimson Cliffs 7

Cedar City played well in all phases of the game, with touchdowns coming from the defensive and special teams units in addition to the offfense. Braxton Torres had a 55-yard pick-six as well as a 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

Snow Canyon 49, Canyon View 14

Thanks to both the arm and legs of quarterback Landon Frei, Snow Canyon had great success in its region-opening win over Canyon View. Frei threw for two touchdowns and rushed for two more as the Warriors dominated the Falcons. Snow Canyon outscored Canyon View 35-7 in the first half and 14-7 in the second half.

REGION 10

Mountain View 31, Ogden 21

Kaden Kunz threw one touchdown and rushed for three more to lead Mountain View to the win over Ogden.

Tooele 35, Ben Lomond 6

Tooele used a strong second half performance to pull away from Ben Lomond. Anthony Cole was electric running the ball for Tooele, scoring two 20-plus yard touchdowns.

Park City 41, Uintah 21

Seth Warner led the way for Park City, scoring two touchdowns on the ground in the Miners’ win. Carson Tabaracci and Chase Beyer each threw a touchdown pass.

Stansbury 56, Cedar Valley 21

After falling behind 14-0 early in the second quarter, Stansbury rallied in a big way to handily defeat Cedar Valley. The Stallions scored 56 points from the second quarter through the fourth before the Aviators found the end zone again late. Quarterback Kru Huxford was the standout, as he threw for six touchdowns and rushed for another. Nate Bushnell added a rushing score for Stansbury, while Cayden Clark had two touchdown receptions.

2A NORTH

North Summit 45, Layton Christian 6

North Summit put together its best offensive performance of the season with touchdowns coming from multiple players, but the defense was the real star in this one, suffocating the Layton Christian offense. Kandon Mosher had a strong game with a receiving touchdown as well as an interception return touchdown.

Gunnison Valley 47, Monticello 12

After Gunnison’s 21-point first quarter explosion, Monticello couldn’t dig itself out of that hole.

2A SOUTH

Kanab 27, Millard 0

Derek Houston found Kason Janes for a touchdown while Karson Blomquist, Travis Stewart and Mike Warino each ran the ball in for a touchdown to lead Kanab to the shutout victory over Millard.

Beaver 56, North Sevier 0

Beaver was its usual dominant self in this one. The running game was working like clockwork, with five different players notching a rushing touchdown.

Enterprise 9, Parowan 0

This game was simply a defensive slugfest. All Enterprise needed was one score from Braxton Messersmith late in the third quarter and the defense did the rest of the work, including getting a safety.

NONREGION

Riverton 35, Granger 6

Riverton scored 28 points in the second quarter to pull away from Granger. The Silverwolves got it done on defense, with interception returns for touchdowns from Brayden Hunkin, Andrew Schouten and Caden Meyers, and a fumble return for a touchdown from Meyers.

American Fork 69, East 49

American Fork quarterback Maddux Madsen threw for nine touchdowns to lead the Cavemen to victory over East in a barnburner. Madsen completed touchdown passes to five different receivers, Noah Moeaki and Fisher Ingersoll three times apiece and Garrison Grimes, Will Zundel and Trey Roberts once each. Spike Adams also rushed for a score in a game that saw a combined 118 points scored.

Corner Canyon 51, Jordan 14

Corner Canyon kept up its winning ways, outscoring Jordan 51-0 before a couple of late Beetdigger touchdowns. Chargers quarterback Jaxson Dart threw six touchdown passes, three to Noah Kjar, two to Cody Hagen and another to Jett Meine. Hayden Easterly also rushed for a touchdown in the Charger win.

Herriman 17, Westlake 15

The Westlake defense continued its strong season, but the same couldn’t be said for the offensive side of the ball, although Herriman was able to secure just enough points to stave off the Westlake defense and clinch the win. | Full story

Lone Peak 55, Farmington 7

Lone Peak dominated from start to finish in the runaway victory. The Knights outscored the Phoenix 35-7 in the first half before adding an additional 20 points to their total in the second. Lone Peak quarterback Luke Romney threw three touchdown passes and also rushed for a touchdown and the Knights also scored on a punt return and two fumble recoveries.

Bonneville 42, Mountain Crest 14

Locked in a tight contest at halftime, Bonneville broke the game open in the second half, outscoring Mountain Crest 28-0 to secure the victory. Carson Jones opened the floodgates, scoring on a blocked kick late in the third quarter. From there, Kord Shaw, on a pass from quarterback Kamen Best, and Curtis Hamilton both found the end zone, Hamilton twice on the ground. Jordan Citte added two scores for Bonneville, one on an 88-yard punt return in the first quarter, the other a 66-yard touchdown reception shortly after.

Brighton 36, Bountiful 17

A strong third quarter from Brighton and running back Mason Young gave the Bengals the separation they needed to cruise to victory. Young had two touchdowns, including a 58-yard scamper. | Full story

Bear River 26, Box Elder 22

Trailing 22-12 early in the fourth quarter, Bear River scored a pair of touchdowns, each on 4th down, to pull out the rivalry game victory over Box Elder. Kace Jones rushed for a 63-yard touchdown to pull the Bears within striking distance, while Cael Wilcox rushed for the game-winning score on a 36-yard scamper with just over three minutes remaining in the game.

North Sanpete 52, Richfield 28

North Sanpete outscored Richfield 40-14 in the first half, cruising to the victory from there.

Grantsville 42, Delta 9

Caleb Sullivan threw for four touchdowns while Blake Thomas rushed for two more as Grantsville took the win over Delta.

South Summit 55, Grand 0

South Summit was exceptional from start to finish in the big win. Tailback Dart Sanchez scored four total touchdowns, three rushing and one receiving.

Emery 54, Union 35

After a neck-and-neck first quarter, Emery exploded for four scores in the second quarter and created the separation it needed to comfortably secure the win. Jace Curtis (three touchdowns) led a well-oiled Emery rushing attack.

Sky View 54, Madison, Idaho 13

Sky View was dominant in its trip up to Idaho, controlling things on both sides of the ball in the convincing win.

Juan Diego 28, Manti 27

Despite a late comeback from Manti, Juan Diego held on for the win. The Soaring Eagle scored 21 points in the third quarter to gain separation. Dallas Larson had two rushing touchdowns in the win.

Timpanogos 34, Payson 14

Matu Holdaway threw four touchdown passes, two to Brock Harris and one apiece to Luke Livingston and one to Nephi Matagi in the Timberwolves’ win.

Carbon 42, Judge Memorial 25

Powered in part by Davin Moss and Mckaden Whiteleather, who each scored two touchdowns, Carbon defeated Judge Memorial. Moss scored both of his on the ground, while Whitleather had both a touchdown run and a reception. The Dinos put the game away in the fourth quarter thanks to scores by quarterback Keaton Rich and an interception return by Will Carmichael.

Morgan 16, Green Canyon 14

Thanks in part to the leg of Gavin Turner, Morgan defeated Green Canyon. Turner made three field goals for the Trojans, one from 41 yards, another from 28 and the other from 25. Jarron Savage was the only other Trojan to score in the win, with a touchdown coming on an 18-yard pass from quarterback Ryder Lish.

Cokeville, Wyo. 34, Rich 6

Hunter Pace scored on a touchdown run for Rich in the fourth quarter, but Cokeville had the game well in hand at that point.

Ridgeline 24, Woods Cross 7

Ridgeline took care of business against a 5A opponent for the second straight week, defeating Woods Cross. The RiverHawks led from start to finish, powered by quarterback Kaden Cox and wide receiver Jovesa Damuni. The duo connected for a pair of touchdown passes, one of 20 yards, the other of 42. Jaden Harris also found the end zone for Ridgeline, on a 6-yard run, while kicker Strat Simmons added a 25-yard field goal.

Juab 42, South Sevier 7

Juab scored 42 points before halftime, blowing out South Sevier. Teagen Christensen had two rushing touchdowns for the Wasps.

Skyline 69, Cottonwood 0

Skyline continued its impressive start, blowing out Cottonwood. Braxton Bolingbrook threw three touchdown passes and rushed for another in the Eagles’ big win.

Highland, Idaho 41, Logan 27

After falling behind 21-7 in the first quarter, Logan couldn’t catch up and fell to Highland, Idaho. The Grizzlies did match Highland’s scoring output the rest of the game, outscoring their opponent 13-10 in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Kody Kirk threw for two touchdowns, as did Cooper Pond in relief.

San Juan 54, American Leadership 9

A strong performance from quarterback Jace Palmer gave San Juan the edge it needed to come away with a commanding win.

Duchesne 28, Milford 14

Cameron Brady passed for a touchdown and rushed for another as Duchesne pulled away from Milford in the second half in the battle of two of the top programs in the 2A classification.

Pleasant Grove 36, Wasatch 10

Pleasant Grove outscored Wasatch 23-3 in the first half, and that was the difference in the game. Sam Leavitt had three passing touchdowns to lead the Vikings.

Summit Academy 43, Providence Hall 0

Quarterback Joe Garlick continued his dominant season in this game with four passing touchdowns and another on the ground as Summit Academy improved to 4-0 on the season.

Skyridge 42, Copper Hills 0

Skyridge came storming out of the gate to start the game, scoring 35 of its 42 points in the opening two quarters. Quarterback McCae Hillstead led the way with his arm (two passing touchdowns) and with his legs (two rushing touchdowns).
