After Paulette made landfall in Bermuda earlier this week, the next storm to watch with interest to the island is Hurricane Teddy. Teddy is now a category 2 hurricane east of the Windward Islands and will likely become a major hurricane over the next 24 hours.
Teddy has continued to strengthen over the last 24 hours, now with winds of 100 mph and a pressure of 973 mb. The storm is moving northwest at 12 mph.
A strong ridge in the Central Atlantic will continue to steer Teddy to the northwest. With warm ocean waters and favorable upper level winds, Teddy is expected to become a major hurricane in the next day or so. Early next week, the storm may approach areas near Bermuda.

On Monday, Hurricane Paulette made landfall in Bermuda with wind gusts over 100 mph. The storm has lost its tropical characteristics, located in the much colder waters of the North Atlantic, but as of Wednesday morning winds were still at 85 mph. Paulette will weaken further and turn southward this weekend. The National Hurricane Center has issued its final advisory on Paulette, but the storm could regain tropical status if it survives the southward movement into warmer Atlantic waters.
