In his return to Philadelphia, Andy Reid is beating his former team with a play that has worked for 22 seasons. Reid has called two shovel passes in the red zone, which has led to two Patrick Mahomes passing touchdowns as the Kansas City Chiefs led the Philadelphia Eagles 21-13 at the half.
Mahomes has three passing touchdowns in the first half, going 13 of 16 for 144 yards (143.8 rating). Tyreek Hill has five catches for 85 yards and a score, as Kansas City as scored touchdowns on all three of its possessions. Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Joe Fortson each have a touchdown catch.
The Eagles have been moving the ball against the Chiefs, but haven't been able to score in the red zone -- going 1 of 3 on red zone opportunities. Jalen Hurts is 18 of 24 for 217 yards with a touchdown -- a 3-yard pass to Dallas Goedert -- in the first half. DeVonta Smith has five catches for 85 yards in the first 30 minutes.
