It's time for the World Series to officially begin.
The Astros will host the Braves in the first game of the best-of-seven series after each team advanced following six-game Championship Series victories in their respective leagues.
While the Astros enter the World Series with a depleted pitching staff due to injuries, they will turn the ball over to their most reliable starter on the hill in Framber Valdez. He is coming off the longest outing of the 2021 postseason when he allowed just one run to the Red Sox over eight innings with three hits, one walk and five strikeouts.
The Braves will send out Charlie Morton, who has dominated in the postseason over the past several years, to start Game 1. Since the start of the 2019 postseason, Morton has made nine starts and has a 2.64 ERA with 55 strikeouts, 36 hits and 18 walks allowed in 44.1 innings of work. His teams have gone 6-3 in those starts.
