Philly local trivia quiz: Can you beat the high score? - Billy Penn

For the first time ever in Billy Penn Philly Quizzo history, we had a repeat winner.

Our local trivia nights started more than two years ago, when they were held monthly in bars across the city. When pandemic lockdowns made that impossible, we began hosting them virtually, every two weeks.

The latest game took place July 1, when just under 100 people joined us on Zoom to play. They split into 47 teams for three rounds of questions: Philly Past, Philly Present and Philly Future.

Bragging rights were at stake, but also the prize donated by this edition’s restaurant partner, the weekend pop-up Spring Arts Beer Garden — which offered a collection of four $20 gift cards for the winner, one for each participating brewery (Love City, Triple Bottom, Roy Pitz and Yards Brewing).

Competition was intense, but one team pulled out ahead: Congrats to Cupcake & Suraya, who won for the second time in a row. (As another player joked, once more and we’ll start the formal inquiry.)
