FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The McMillon Innovation Studio, typically an extracurricular program at the University of Arkansas, will now be offered as a course during the fall 2020 semester.
The course will instill the same experience as the studio with the option for class credit.
The McMillon Innovation Fellowship program will include students forming a multidisciplinary team and taking on a high-value industry problem. During the class, students will have access to workshops, mentors, and prototyping resources.
"The studio opened my eyes to a whole new world of possibilities and truly helped to shape what my future will look like," said Hailey Carter, a biomedical engineering student who graduated from the U of A in 2019.
"Through my time in the studio I was challenged and inspired. I also was introduced to a whole new way of thinking that I didn't even know existed."
The program will culminate with a certificate and digital badge from the U of A Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
The one-hour class will be held asynchronously online, with options to meet in the studio with your team throughout the week (WCOB 210V Special Topics in Business – Section 2).

About McMillion Innovation Studio: The McMillon Innovation Studio exists to shape the future of commerce by developing and enabling students to be catalysts of innovation. The studio hosts interdisciplinary student collaboration teams and provides prototyping space for students and faculty across campus to connect and create together. Inside the studio, students have access to a maker space tools like CAD modeling and 3D printers, as well as a band saw, drill press, CNC and sewing machine.
