Expect a spectacular start during Round 1 of the 2020 Memorial Tournament on Thursday at Medinah Village Golf Club. Where do we begin? Tiger Woods is playing for the first time since February. Rory McIlroy is playing for the first time in three weeks. Three of the top 20 players in the field won the last time they played (Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau and Collin Morikawa).
Oh, and there's Muirfield itself, which should be playing like a major championship course in a week originally slated on the calendar to be a major championship week. If you can't get excited about the myriad angles at this week's event, I'm not sure if there's anything that can get you wound up about golf. One of the underrated storylines so far since the PGA Tour restarted just over a month ago is just how good the golf has been. Five great winners, five mostly-great tournaments. No end in sight. Certainly not this week with this field at this course. Buckle up for the action; it should be spectacular.
