A man died while diving to recover golf balls from a Florida golf course, according to the First Coast News.

The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident which occurred at Ponte Vedra Inn & Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, last Friday.

“There was an individual diving to clean a pond of golf balls and the individual was found unresponsive,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. “Fire Rescue pronounced the individual deceased. An investigation is underway.”

Ponte Vedra Inn & Club opened in 1928 and is one of the oldest golf courses in the state of Florida.
