No. 2 Michigan leads No. 13 Iowa 14-3 at halftime of the Big Ten Championship Game on Saturday. The game got off to an eventful start but quickly calmed down in the second quarter. It started well for the Hawkeyes, as they forced a three-and-out on Michigan's first drive before driving the length of the field on their first possession. The drive ended with a missed field goal, however, and Michigan turned it up a notch from there.
Blake Corum broke loose for a 67-yard touchdown run to take a 7-0 lead, and on Michigan's next possession, the Wolverines busted out some trickeration. Donovan Edwards caught a backward pass in the backfield before turning upfield and unleashing a bomb to a wide-open Roman Wilson for a 75-yard touchdown. Iowa answered with a long field goal, and that was the last time anybody scored.
Both teams combined for only 93 yards, no points and seven punts in the second quarter while taking turns flipping field position.
Michigan QB Cade McNamara has thrown for 62 yards, and running back Donovan Edwards is the team's leading passer thanks to his 75-yard touchdown throw. Iowa's Spencer Petras has thrown for 126 yards but has completed only eight of his 17 pass attempts. Iowa will start the second half with the ball.
