ARLINGTON, Texas -- No. 9 Baylor leads No. 5 Oklahoma State 7-3 at the end of the first quarter of the 2021 Big 12 Championship Game at AT&T Stadium. In relief, Baylor backup quarterback Blake Shapen has completed all seven of his passes for 80 yards and a touchdown.
Turnovers have swung the game early. The Bears put together a 49-yard drive into Oklahoma State territory on their first possession before running back Trestan Ebner fumbled. Oklahoma State converted three third downs to cap off a field goal drive. On the Cowboys' next possession, QB Spencer Sanders threw a costly interception that Baylor safety JT Woods returned for 33 yards to set up a 2-yard touchdown throw to Ben Sims. Sanders threw another pick on his next drive, an airy lob easily picked off by Matt Jones. The Bears and Cowboys -- two of the best running teams in the nation -- have combined for just 33 yards rushing on 14 carries.
