Optimism continues to run sky high, so beware. While the Denver Broncos should win this week against the New York Jets, the past five years should have taught us all not to take any game for granted.
As a group here at Mile High Report, that is exactly what we seem to be doing with our score predictions. The average score here has the Broncos winning easily beating the Jets 30-13. Not all of us are predicting double digit wins on Sunday, but we all think Denver should win this game by some comfortable margin.
Here is how we see things playing out individually.
Broncos 26, Jets 20
The score looks closer than it actually. One trend that I’ve noticed the Broncos have been about is giving up an early touchdown and a late touchdown. In Week 1, the late touchdown was on the game’s final play and in Week 2 it was a special teams breakdown. So I’m going to say its 26-13 late and one of those annoying things happens to make the score seem closer. But hey! 3-0 is 3-0 and I’ll take that every single time. - Tim Lynch
Broncos 34, Jets 17
If you thought Vic Fangio had Trevor Lawrence in a twist just wait until you see what Von Miller and the Broncos defense does against Zach Wilson. The biggest question of this game is whether Lloyd Cushenberry and the interior offensive line can keep Quinnen Williams and company off Teddy Bridgewater. If they do that it’s going to quickly become a rout. - Joe Rowles
Broncos 27, Jets 9
The defense will keep the Jets out of the end zone. They will also score a touchdown. The offense will continue to play well, and be efficient. They will not look past the lesser opponent, and head should get an easy win in their home opener. The Broncos will be 3-0 and are starting to look like a legitimate playoff team. - Adam Malnati
Broncos 34, Jets 10
For the first time since Dec. 29, 2019, Mile High will be packed. And Broncos Country actually has a team to get excited about and bring the Rocky Mountain Thunder. The Broncos should be able to parlay that into a lopsided win over the Jets on Sunday. The reason Denver gets over 30 is the defense scores a touchdown for the first time since 2019 against the Houston Texans. - Ian St. Clair
Broncos 31, Jets 9
The Broncos’ defense keeps Zach Wilson & the Jets on the run, with multiple sacks and multiple turnovers. Bridgewater & the offense continue the precision, clock-draining drives with deep shots scattered in as available. The Jets’ D-line stalls a couple of drives leading to FGs, but it’s not close after the Broncos’ opening drive in the 3rd quarter. - Taylor Kothe
Broncos 31, Jets 10
This should be a pretty fun home opener for the Broncos. They finish off the 2021 cupcake trifecta with a big win building more confidence against a Jets team that is lacking talent in a lot of areas (especially QB which all of us in Broncos are very familiar with). The Broncos offense keeps churning production at a steady pace and eating clock while the Broncos defense gets to flex on a young, unpolished offense. - Sadaraine
Broncos 27, Jets 16
Some of the cracks start to show in this one. The Broncos still win, but the offense only scores 16 (defense gets 7) and this game is close even in the fourth. The Broncos let the Jets get some confidence early with two FG drives in the first quarter and those take the crowd out of the game. This games is similar to the Jags game in that the Broncos get down early and the offense struggles to find a rhythm as Quinnen Williams pushes around Dalton Risner, Lloyd Cushenberry and Netane Muti. The game will stay close until Zach Wilson throws two picks in the second half, one of which will be returned for a TD. - Joe Mahoney
Broncos 27, Jets 9
The Broncos are excited to be at Mile High. Broncos Country is ready to rock Mile High for a winning team. I look forward to Von Miller wreaking havoc and getting the stadium rowdy the way he wants. Poor Zach Wilson. B-R-O-N-C-O-S, BRONCOS, BRONCOS, BRONCOS! - Laurie Lattimore-Volkmann
