Some Monday night matchups — looking at you Week 16 Dolphins-Saints with Jameis throwing for less than 150 yards per game — don't have a hugely decisive fantasy football impact. This one should, especially if you have Cowboys on your roster.
The over-under is 51 points, and there are plenty of players on the field tonight who can help fantasy owners make up ground if they're running a late deficit in Week 3.
Dallas has the No. 7 and 11 receivers in The Athletic's projections, with CeeDee Lamb at 15.2 points and Amari Cooper at 14.4. And rookie DeVonta Smith, at No. 32, seems like a safe bet for his projected 11.4. That's even if he ends up facing his college teammate turned Cowboys corner Trevon Diggs, who has interceptions in his first two games this season and had two against the Eagles in November.
Even as Tony Pollard cuts into his running back production, Ezekiel Elliott is projected for 14.4 points, and the Eagles' Miles Sanders is at 13.0.
The matchup of dual-threat QBs also should lead to some points. Jalen Hurts was this week's No. 5 QB in our projections with 23.4 points in his outlook. And Dak Prescott is due for a major rebound after an accurate but low-scoring day in Week 2. He was projected to finish No. 7 in points at his position entering this week.
The two positions where you might need to worry if you're down big are tight end and D/ST. Though Dallas Goedert is emerging as an upper-tier player at his position, he's still sharing the job with Zach Ertz, and in fantasy terms the Dallas TE role is essentially a toss-up between Blake Jarwin and Dalton Schultz. And it could be a stretch to expect either defense to have a standout night.
