Half-time: Juventus 0-0 Chelsea
Much tighter at the Allianz Stadium, where there have also been no goals so far.

Half-time: Manchester United 0-0 Villarreal
The half-time whistle is a relief for United who have been firmly second best at Old Trafford.
David de Gea has been their busiest player and saved his side from being two or three goals down at the break.
United, in response, have not offered a lot at all.
Will Solskjaer make any changes?

Another chance for Villarreal and another save from De Gea
44 mins - Manchester United 0-0 Villarreal: Pino is found on the right, he cuts inside and drives low but again De Gea is there to make the save!
How many chances to Unai Emery's side want?

United caught out but nearly open the scoring
43 mins - Manchester United 0-0 Villarreal: The away side break from a United corner and Alcacer and Pino advance on Dalot.
Alcacer's pass forces Pino wide and the chance is wasted.
A lofted ball from Pogba is then so nearly turned into his own net by the outstretched Moreno!

Better from United
38 mins - Manchester United 0-0 Villarreal: Pogba curls one straight into Rulli's arms from the edge of the box, which makes it United's first shot on target of the evening.
Fernandes then hooks one towards Ronaldo, who across the six-yard box but harmlessly into the goalkeeper's arms.

Villarreal waste two more chances!
30 mins - Manchester United 0-0 Villarreal: Manchester United really should be behind by now.
Danjuma gets behind Dalot again and pokes wide, before Alcacer gets the better of Varane who misjudges a bounce — the Villarreal number nine has the whole goal to aim at but pulls it wide.
Will their latest misses be costly?

Not quite happening for United
27 mins - Manchester United 0-0 Villarreal: It's been a frustrating opening period for United thus far.
The away side have had the better chances and in the opposite direction, it's not quite clicking for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.
Overhit crosses and misplaced passes aplenty so far.

Lukaku, Chiesa go close in Turin
Romelu Lukaku and Federico Chiesa have both had good chances to open the scoring as the first-half between Juventus and Chelsea approaches its midway point.
Marcos Alonso, meanwhile, has picked up an early yellow card.
September 29, 2021 at 3:24 PM EDT
Moreno smashes over
21 mins - Manchester United 0-0 Villarreal: Parejo plays a low corner towards the edge of the box and its dummied before Alberto Moreno hammers over first time.
It would have been an interesting reaction to say the least from the home crowd if the former Liverpool man found the net.
September 29, 2021 at 3:21 PM EDT
Another stop from De Gea!
17 mins - Manchester United 0-0 Villarreal: David de Gea has been the busiest United player already tonight, and he's called into action again.
Danjuma, who has had the beating of Dalot since the first whistle, glides past the right-back and lifts the ball towards Alcacer, whose firm header has to be tipped over.
Three good chances for Villarreal already!
September 29, 2021 at 3:19 PM EDT
Brilliant tackle from Varane
16 mins - Manchester United 0-0 Villarreal: Fantastic defending from Raphael Varane.
Danjuma again has time and space — the former Bournemouth man tries to find Alcacer with a pinpoint pass and Varane has to slide in to clear the danger.
The linesman then puts the flag up.
September 29, 2021 at 3:13 PM EDT
Great save from De Gea!
9 mins - Manchester United 0-0 Villarreal: A top stop from David de Gea.
Not long after Ronaldo heads over, Danjuma again finds himself in space on the left.
He cuts inside and goes for the bottom corner but it's fingertipped away for a corner by the Spaniard.
September 29, 2021 at 3:10 PM EDT
Good chance for Villarreal and Danjuma
6 mins - Manchester United 0-0 Villarreal: A big chance at the other end!
The ball is lifted over to Danjuma on the left-wing, and he runs into space but can only curl a shot straight at De Gea.
A good opening for the visitors, but a poor finish in truth.
September 29, 2021 at 3:05 PM EDT
First chance flies harmlessly over
2 mins - Manchester United 0-0 Villarreal: United have the first shot of the game, and it's Bruno Fernandes.
Ronaldo feeds his compatriot on the edge of the box, but he spoons it over.
High, but not as high as his penalty on Saturday.
September 29, 2021 at 3:04 PM EDT
We are off!
1 min - Manchester United 0-0 Villarreal: Manchester United players all take the knee and Villarreal's Danjuma joins them.
United get the ball rolling at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer must start to get a tune out of his United side in Europe
Manchester United's shock defeat to Young Boys in their first match was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's seventh defeat in 11 Champions League games as manager.
Their last shot against the Swiss side came in the 25th minute — ten minutes before defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka's red card.
United only had two shots in the entire match, the fewest Opta had recorded in any of their 138 Champions League games since 2003-04.
Last week's Carabao Cup exit at home to West Ham has increased the pressure on Solskjaer to deliver a trophy this season — so how does he improve his and United's recent European struggles?
Andy Mitten has more.
