Any shliach can teach Advice for Life, giving their community an appreciation for the relevance of the Rebbe’s wisdom to their real concerns in everyday life.
JLI produces three courses annually, but only registered JLI affiliates get access to these courses. That’s changing with their next course, Advice for Life. It’s open to every shliach eager to teach it.
“This course is too important not to share with every shliach,” says course editor Rabbi Naftali Silberberg. He says Advice for Life is geared to help shluchim introduce their community to the Rebbe’s remarkably relevant guidance for the issues all people contend with every day.
“It’s a deeply relevant side of the Rebbe that people often miss,” Rabbi Silberberg says. “Most Chabad house community members are familiar with the Rebbe as a larger-than-life visionary leader and brilliant Torah scholar and teacher, but it’s harder to convey the Rebbe’s relevance to their personal lives.”
To effectively convey the personal relevance of the Rebbe’s guidance, JLI partnered with JEM to center Advice for Life on personal stories, letters, and videos. The course’s unique multimedia approach illustrates how the Rebbe uplifted tens of thousands when they struggled with concerns about work, family life, health, emotional wellness, and more.
With five hundred shluchim worldwide gearing up to teach the course ahead of the thirtieth Gimmel Tammuz, tens of thousands of students are set to experience the personal care, clarity, and life-uplifting advice the Rebbe’s advice provides.
Even before launching, Advice for Life has yielded notable endorsements from leading rabbinic figures, from Rabbi Herschel Schachter, dean of Yeshiva University’s Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Talmudic Seminary, Rabbi Dr. Tzvi Hersh Weinreb, executive vice president emeritus of the Orthodox Union, to Rabbi Yisroel Meir Lau, current chief rabbi of Tel Aviv, Rabbi Berel Lazar, chief rabbi of Russia, Rabbi Mendy Chitrik, chairman of the Alliance of Rabbis in Islamic States, and beyond.
“We’re excited to offer shluchim this powerful new resource,” says Director Rabbi Shmuly Karp of JLI Flagship. “I look forward to working with the shluchim joining us for this course to help them make the most of this opportunity.”
