When Apple launched their Apple Arcade subscription gaming service back in September of last year, one of the titles we were most anxious to get our hands on was a puzzle adventure called Down in Bermuda. Why were we excited? Well it was the follow-up title from developer Yak & Co. who had previously released the extremely stylish adventure game Agent A: A Puzzle in Disguise episodically over the course of the past 4 years, and we were such big fans of that game that we were excited to see what else the developer was capable of. As it turned out, our excitement was justified as Down in Bermuda turned out to be an exceedingly entertaining game. Late last week, Yak & Co. released the second big update for the game adding in the brand new expansion Lava Island.
As you can see, Down in Bermuda is a much more traditional puzzler compared to Agent A, and features all sorts of clever environmental puzzles to solve. One thing both games definitely have in common is their tremendous sense of style and polish, and we enjoyed Down in Bermuda a lot in our review from last fall. In fact our only real complaint was that the game was over too quickly, something Yak & Co. has been working towards addressing with the Shipwreck Island update back in March and this latest Lava Island update. There’s now a total of 5 different islands to explore, so now is a perfect time to take another trip to Down in Bermuda. And as an added bonus, the previously mentioned Agent A is currently on sale for the criminally low price of 99¢, so be sure to give that a spin too if you haven’t already.
