The Score lays off Connor McKnight, Julie DiCaro as part of parent-company cuts - Chicago Sun-Times

The coronavirus pandemic touched the Chicago sports-media landscape Thursday, when The Score was forced to let go of hosts Connor McKnight and Julie DiCaro in a round of layoffs by parent company Entercom. The nation’s second-largest operator of radio stations has been affected by advertising declines as businesses across the country continue to suffer.

Even Entercom employees who remain will be affected. According to Radio + Television Business Report, employees earning at least $50,000 per year will have their salary reduced temporarily between 10% and 20%. Entercom president/CEO David Field will take a 30% pay cut.

McKnight returned to the station in March 2018 to co-host middays with Dan Bernstein after hosting the White Sox pre- and postgame show on WLS-AM. He initially joined The Score in 2009 after winning an “American Idol”-like contest.

DiCaro had been hosting from 10 to midnight during the week and co-hosting with Maggie Hendricks on Saturdays. The weekend show no longer will air, leaving The Score without a female host
