During his pregame availability, Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins noted some points of emphasis from film study of his team’s game last Sunday against the Warriors. Jenkins said his team needs to be mindful of its transition defense, contesting shots more effectively and collecting defensive rebounds.
In addition, Jenkins said, “We’ve got to do a better job getting better shots, a better balance of not just scoring in the paint but scoring from the 3-point line. I thought we missed a lot of opportunities there to have better ball movement. You’re going to need that against a really optimum defense.”
Jenkins also indicated he doesn’t expect recent heavy minutes for key players to impair his rotations tonight. “This is a win-or-go-home opportunity,” Jenkins said. “We’ve going to put it on the line and go out there and play hopefully our best basketball. As many minutes as it takes, that’s what it’ll take.”
