Math Placement Cut Scores | University Testing Center - Nevada Today

Math placement at the University of Nevada, Reno is determined by ACT or SAT scores, or by the ALEKS PPL placement assessment.

The ALEKS PPL placement assessment is scored on a scale of 0 to 100, which represents the percentage of math topics and subject areas ALEKS has identified the student has mastered.  It does not represent the percentage of correctly or incorrectly answered questions.

In the table below, the cut score is the minimum score required to place into the corresponding course(s).  The Department of Mathematics and Statistics regularly reviews the cut scores, and they are subject to change without notice.
