Moniz promoted at Axa XL

Promotion: Vivienne Moniz is Axa XL's newly appointed head of excess casualty in Bermuda

Vivienne Moniz has been promoted to Axa XL’s head of excess casualty, Bermuda.

The company simultaneously announced the promotion of Elaine Scully to head of excess casualty, Dublin.

Their responsibilities will include driving strategic growth and operational objectives within their regions and ensuring the highest degree of underwriting standards and profitability while maintaining superior broker and client satisfaction.

Ms Moniz, who has more than 15 years of industry experience, will report to Patrick Tannock, XL Bermuda Ltd chief executive officer, insurance.

She has held progressively senior roles within the company including most recently head of healthcare, Bermuda.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in business, specialising in international business from the University of LaTrobe, Melbourne Australia and Associate in Claims and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters designations.

Ms Scully, who has more than 11 years of industry experience, will report to Donnacha Smyth, Axa XL Insurance president, global excess casualty. Prior to her new role she was senior underwriter, vice-president on the excess casualty team in Dublin.
