Strong winds are expected tomorrow as Subtropical Storm Leslie gradually approaches the island.
The storm, expected to re-intensify as a hurricane on Tuesday, will bring increasingly strong winds to Bermuda, with near gale winds by Monday morning.
The Bermuda Weather Service also warned of moderate to rough seas, and moderate to very rough northeasterly swells on Monday.
Leslie was not listed as a threat to the island this morning, and its closest approach in the next three days is expected to be on Tuesday at 6am when it will be 570 miles to the east of the island.
At 6am today, Leslie was 860 miles to the east-northeast of Bermuda, packing winds of 46mph and gusts of 58mph. It was moving southwest at about 7mph.
A BWS spokesman said this morning: “Newly rejuvenated subtropical storm Leslie will become the dominant feature for Bermuda for this forecast period, but first, with high pressure centred to our west, a weak frontal trough will move southward through Bermuda today with a few mainly light showers.
“Light and variable winds will settle northwesterly and increase to moderate by noon. Winds will further increase slightly and veer north-northwesterly tonight.”
A Small Craft Warning is in place for this morning through Sunday morning, and is expected to be extended through Monday night.
