Men's Golf's Joe Muschong Fires the Lowest 54-Hole Score by an Eagle at the OVC Championship Since 2001 as the 2021 Iteration Wraps Tuesday

MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. – For the third time in six Ohio Valley Conference Men's Golf Championships under head coach Matthew Martin, Morehead State men's golf has claimed a member of the event's All-Tournament Team as the event came to a close Tuesday.Fashioning scores of 68-70-71-209, senior Joe Muschong joined fellow senior Cooper Collins (t-14th; 2017) and Nick Wilkins (1 [MVP]; 2018) as All-Tournament Team members under Martin after tying for third in the 2021 OVC Men's Golf Championship.
Muschong's 54-hole total 209 tied for the third-lowest 54-hole total in program history at an OVC Men's Golf Championship, marking the lowest score at the event by an Eagle since Shawn Tipton's 210 in 2006 and the first sub-210 event since Nick Atzinger (208) in 2001. His opening round 68 (-4) tied for the lowest round at the OVC Men's Golf Championship under Martin, the sixth 68 carded by an Eagle since 2015.
Carding a final round 69, Collins fired the second-lowest round by an Eagle at the event, tying for the seventh-lowest round by a Morehead State golfer since 2015. Overall, Morehead State collected four rounds under-par, three carded by Muschong and one by Collins.
Overall, the Eagles marked in scores of 296-295-290-881, improving the team's totals in each round while claiming a sixth-place finish. The team's 881 marked the third-lowest 54-hole total for the program under Martin, sitting behind 2019's 271 and 2016's 880.

- Muschong also tied for sixth in the tournament field in total birdies with 11. Without carding an eagle—three total eagles were scored in the event—Muschong slotted in the top-10 in the field in all five statistical categories.
