The Grand Forks chapter of SCORE has been recognized as the highest-rated chapter in the nation.
The recognition follows an annual survey of clients, conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers and funded by the SCORE Foundation. More than 250 chapters were included in this year’s results. Earlier this year, the group was recognized by SCORE’s national office as Chapter of the Year for North Dakota
“Our 30 volunteers have a passion for business,” said Curt Sandberg, the SCORE Grand Forks chapter co-chair, in a news release. “They are committed to the success of Grand Fork, East Grand Forks and surrounding area small businesses.”
SCORE clients who take the annual survey respond to 11 questions and assign ratings from 1 to 5. A score of 5 means 100% of clients gave the chapter the highest possible rating. The Grand Forks chapter scored 4.69 compared to 4.25 in 2019. Fargo and Bismarck chapters both scored 4.31. The three chapters combined for a North Dakota District score of 4.46, which is also the top rating nationwide. SCORE’s nationwide rating was 4.15.
SCORE Grand Forks received 100% ratings in three categories, including: Whether or not a client would recommend the local chapter to others, whether or not they would return for additional mentoring, and whether or not the mentor treated the client with respect.
According to the release, the Grand Forks SCORE chapter has been a part of the local small business community for 46 years. In 2020, the chapter’s volunteers provided free video, telephone, email and in-person mentoring for 142 entrepreneurs and small business owners. They also collaborated in presenting 25 free workshops attended by 665 individuals.
