Both No. 4 Ohio State and No. 9 Iowa are headed towards favorable seedings in the NCAA Tournament, and will have legitimate Final Four aspirations regardless of what happens Sunday. But after what both programs have been through this week, they could both use a victory when they square off with each other on CBS at 4 p.m. ET in a Big Ten battle.
The Hawkeyes suffered their worst loss of the season on Thursday against No. 3 Michigan while losing key reserve Jack Nunge for the season during the game. Ohio State, on the other hand, is on its first two-game losing streak of the season and trying to regain the form it enjoyed during a recent seven-game winning streak that included an 89-85 win at Iowa on Feb. 4.
Despite the recent losses, Ohio State (18-6, 12-6 Big Ten) still entered the weekend as a projected No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, according to CBS Sports Bracketologist Jerry Palm, while Iowa (17-7, 11-6) entered the weekend as a projected No. 3 seed. With both teams ranking in the top three of the conference in points per game and needing a win, this showdown could be a wild one.
