An oceanfront estate in Bermuda, dubbed At Last, is headed for the auction block.
The 1.4-acre property will be sold without reserve in a live auction on March 20, according to Elite Auctions, which is overseeing the event. It is listed for $10.6 million with Albert Moura of KW Bermuda, a Keller Williams affiliate.
Located in the small community of Tucker's Town at the mouth of Castle Harbour, the property boasts a dock, boat house and boat slip, plus a breakwater structure to ensure calm waters on the white-sand beach, according to the listing. There’s also a sandy beach at low tide and there are two golf courses with an easy walk or golf-cart ride.
The land presides “over its own promontory on Castle Harbour with a delightfully private setting and superb existing private boating facilities,” Tara McLean, president of Elite Auctions, said in an email. "Vacant waterfront building lots simply do not exist on the Tucker’s Town peninsula.”
It includes a single-level residence with more than 6,000 square feet, with a pink facade to match the island’s pink sands. The home, built in 1952, features a walled courtyard, hardwood floors, a sunroom attached to the eat-in kitchen and the “harbor room,” an indoor-outdoor room with views to the water, according to the listing.
However, the home is in need of renovation or could be torn down to make way for a new building.
“For those who prefer to rebuild, David Benevides of Benevides & Associates, one of Bermuda’s leading architectural firms, has designed an impressive new residence and guest cottage on-site totaling 13,650 square feet,” Ms. McLean noted, adding that the plans are available upon request."
The property is owned by Edward St. John, the founder and chairman of St. John Properties Inc., a commercial real estate firm headquartered in Baltimore. Mansion Global could not determine how much he paid for the property.
Mr. St. John declined to comment for this article.
