One of the most anticipated games of the season in the Big Ten lived up to the hype in the first half on Sunday as No. 3 Michigan and No. 4 Ohio State put on an early offensive clinic and went to halftime with the Wolverines leading 45-43. Michigan got scoring contributions from eight players and kept pace with the hot-shooting Buckeyes through a steady 3-point barrage.
With the undersized Buckeyes double-teaming Michigan's post players, the Wolverines got some good looks from 3-point range and made 10-of-13 from long distance. E.J. Liddell and Duane Washington Jr. led the Buckeyes with 14 and 12 points, respectively, as Ohio State shot 53% from the floor in the half.
Ohio State has won seven games in a row and 10 of its last 11, but Michigan has won its last four and has just one loss this season. So after a deadlocked first half, something will have to give in the second as one of these teams will leave with a marquee victory to its name in the pursuit of a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
