The New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays will play Game 4 of their best-of-five American League Divisional Series on Thursday night. The Yankees, down 2-1, are facing elimination after back-to-back losses in the series. The Rays will try to close out the series for their first trip to the ALCS since 2008.

Yankees lefty Jordan Montgomery and Tampa right-hander Ryan Thompson will be on the mound to start Game 4. Montgomery is making his postseason debut, while Thompson will be utilized as an opener. If New York is able to force a Game 5, Gerrit Cole would be available to start. The Yankees have fought their way out of a 2-1 deficit in the ALDS twice before. In 2001 against the Athletics and more recently, in 2017 against Cleveland.
