We don't often get measuring stick games in the SEC so quickly in the season, but there is certainly one Saturday afternoon in the SEC on CBS Game of the Week as No. 2 Alabama hosts No. 13 Texas A&M in the second game of the season for both teams. This with the Aggies eyeing the end of a six-game losing streak to the Crimson Tide.
Alabama didn't have a lot of trouble with Missouri last week during a 38-19 win. Any questions about how the Alabama offense would look with Mac Jones were answered quickly as he put in an efficient performance, while Jaylen Waddle, DeVonta Smith and Najee Harris all had excellent games as well. Speaking of Texas A&M, this is a chance to make a statement early. It's Jimbo Fisher's third season at the helm, and he's raised the talent level on the roster. That wasn't apparent last week, though, as the Aggies struggled to get by Vanderbilt, winning 17-12. TAMU will have to play much better this weekend, and it needs quarterback Kellen Mond to step up and have a big game against a top defense led by Dylan Moses and Patrick Surtain II.
