George was the first of 12 Pitt players to reveal his plans to transfer. He made the announcement on social media two days after the end of the season. Since then, linebackers Bangally Kamara and Aydin Henningham also placed their names in the portal after senior Shayne Simon’s eligibility expired, putting that position in peril.
George, a senior who could move into Simon’s spot, finished last season fifth on the team in tackles, with 49, including 4 1/2 for a loss and one sack. He also intercepted a pass. He played in all 12 games, without a start.
“This is my home!!” George wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Temple played in 11 of 12 games, with nine starts, during his senior season. He totaled 26 tackles, 4 1/2 for a loss, 1 1/2 sacks and three quarterback hurries.
“I have realized that I was in the right place all along,” Temple wrote on X.
Lynum was a sophomore in terms of eligibility at Nebraska this season, playing in all 12 games with one start. He recorded 12 tackles, including a sack, and two forced fumbles. He missed the final eight games of the 2o22 season with an injury.
