A food festival now in its tenth year is set to go ahead in Hamilton this October.
Taste of Bermuda, from October 13 to 15, will highlight the island’s restaurants and talents, with the City of Hamilton calling for “creative and dynamic food and beverage offerings”.
Jessica Astwood, the City’s director of marketing and communications, said the city was calling for “vendors that can provide one or two food or beverage items that they specialise in”.
“The five categories of participating vendors we are looking to engage are food and beverage vendors or stalls, food trucks, fresh produce, Bermuda cookbooks and cookware, and decor tablescape showcases.”
She said the festival would link attendees with traditions and new culinary trends.
“Taste of Bermuda promises to showcase our culture, celebrate community and support Bermuda businesses,” Ms Astwood added.
The latest Taste of Bermuda includes a cocktail competition on October 13 at the newly renovated Pier 6.
Front Street will close for dining on October 14 with a long dinner table, entertainment and dancing to close the evening.
On October 15, the “tasting village” street festival will take over Front Street with entertainment, a kids zone and vendors.
It will feature a live culinary stage with cooking demonstrations, with DJs mixing classic cooking tunes.
Applications to become a vendor in the tasting village are online, along with online forms to apply as an interested bartender or chef for cooking demos on the culinary stage.
September 1 is the deadline for vendor participation, and questions can be e-mailed to events@cityhall.bm.
Further details will be released on the City of Hamilton’s website as well as its social media channels, including ticket release dates and a schedule, once they are confirmed.
Ms Astwood said the festival would cater to a wide range of attendees, from “those seeking family-friendly activities for the weekend to those interested in unique, memorable eating, drinking and entertainment experiences and anyone with a simple love of food”.
