American YouTuber Mr Beast has filmed one of his popular challenges on the island, entitled: “I buried treasure in the Bermuda Triangle.”
Mr Beast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, is one of the biggest social media influencers in the world, with 167 million subscribers on YouTube, 85 million followers on TikTok and 39 million on Instagram, and his video featuring Bermuda has over 60 million views on YouTube alone.
In his recent YouTube video, Mr Beast organised a treasure hunt, claiming the loot to be worth $10,000, handing a map to an unknown man, explaining: “This is a treasure map, and I’ve buried some treasure in the heart of the Bermuda Triangle. If you find it, you can keep it.”
The man promptly boards a flight to the island in pursuit of the treasure despite being told by a flight attendant, “Good luck, you’ll never find it.”
A local skipper helps the man in his treasure hunt, the pair boarding a boat to locate the designated spot, with the man asking, “How many shipwrecks are there in the Bermuda Triangle?” The skipper replies, “Well over a hundred.”
When they arrive at the spot marked ‘X’, the man jumps into the sea and soon discovers a chest full of gold.
