  • Students will be expected to complete 12 hours worth of training on concepts including, racism, sexism, homophobia and transphobia

A woke Michigan college has created a new taxpayer-funded course teaching students how to address transphobia and other diversity issues in the workplace.

Siena Heights University, based in Adrian, Michigan, is set to offer a new certificate in 'Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion'.

The course will begin this fall and is to be led by Professor Leland Harper.

Students will be expected to complete 12 hours worth of training on concepts including, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia and xenophobia.
One critic has panned the course as being 'ideologically cramped and dogmatic' that would 'funnel noxious ideology into the university under a false flag.'

Dr. Stanley K. Ridgley, pictured, has warned that the program would be a way to 'funnel noxious ideology' into the university

Concerns about the course were made by Drexel University Professor Stanley Ridgley, who specializes in business.

He told the College Fix: 'Students have been learning about ‘cultural differences’ since the Enlightenment university emerged in the 1700s—in fact, the Western University is the only academic institution in the world where these differences have been consistently accorded respect.

'DEI certificates aren’t needed, because they aren’t about Diversity. Their purpose is to funnel noxious ideology into the university under a false flag.

'The very vagueness of such program titles suggests that what actually appears in them is ideologically cramped and dogmatic.

'Learning about race and learning about cultural differences and difficult dialogues are intentionally vague topics that provide wide latitude for the indoctrinations, whose purpose is to inculcate a doctrinal orthodoxy in students. A waste of valuable resources.'

Ridgley had previously rote a book on liberal indoctrination titled 'Brutal Minds: The Dark World of Left-Wing Brainwashing in Our Universities.'

Professor Leland Harper told The College Fix: '[The course] allows our students to put theory into practice and gain real hands-on experience applying their knowledge in the workplace.

The university had received just under $35,000 so it could fund the program which is expected to be offered in either online or hybrid formats

'While many of [other DEI programs] provide useful information, each of them focuses primarily on compliance.

'To me, this is the bare minimum that we should be doing – we should not just be trying to comply, and there is more that needs to be said about how and why we can foster ideas of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in our society.'

The university had received $34,905 so it could fund the program that is expected to be offered in either online or hybrid formats.

A funded great states that the program will be 'designed for students with interests in attaining a Diversity and Inclusion certificate in addition to their pursued degree at the undergraduate level.'
