Final score: Mets 7, Dodgers 2—Turnaround in Tinseltown - Amazin' Avenue

The Mets actually won a game against the Dodgers, avoiding the season sweep due to good performance in all areas. Marcus Stroman gave them a good outing, throwing six innings with only two runs and six strikeouts and keeping the Mets in it when they had only three runs on the board. The Mets bullpen pulled it all together, keeping the Dodgers scoreless over the three innings covered by Jeurys Familia, Trevor May, and Edwin Díaz.

The real bright spot today was the Mets offense, who scored five runs against the Dodgers. The first inning the Mets scored three runs through base hits, a Nimmo walk lead to Javier Báez (in his first game back), J.D. Davis, and Jonathan Villar all getting RBI hits. Then in the seventh inning Davis slugged a two-run home run to put the final nail in coffin of the Dodgers’ chances in this game. Then in the ninth, the Mets loaded the bases and Davis and Jeff McNeil drove in two more runs. All in all, the Mets produced some positive momentum in the final game before they come for a ten game homestand against the Giants, Nationals, and Marlins.

Full recap to follow.
