The 2021 Iowa high school girls’ state basketball tournament concluded Saturday at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines with four more championship games.
Ballard (4A), Unity Christian (3A), Dike-New Hartford (2A) and Newell-Fonda (1A) claimed state titles. Waukee won the 5A championship Friday night.

Saturday's girls' state basketball scores
CLASS 3A CHAMPIONSHIP
No. 3 Unity Christian 48, No. 4 West Lyon 31
Unity Christian (25-2) started the fourth quarter on a 10-0 run while holding West Lyon (24-2) without a basket for nearly 4 1/2 minutes to turn what was a 29-29 game into a decisive championship.
Gracie (three) and Janie (four) Schoonhoven scored the first seven points of that run and combined for points in the game overall 26. Janie scored a game-high 17 points on 7-for-13 shooting and grabbed 16 rebounds. She was named all-tournament captain. Gracie scored nine points and dished seven assists. Tyra Schuiteman was 7-of-8 at the free throw line and scored 12 points.
In all, the Knights outscored the Wildcats 19-2 in the last period and 30-8 in the second half.
Brooklyn Meyer was 5-of-14 from the floor and led West Lyon with 12 points. She also had four rebounds and four assists.
CLASS 4A CHAMPIONSHIP
No. 2 Ballard 47, No. 1 Glenwood 45
Josie Fleischmann hit the go-ahead 3-pointer from NBA range with 36 seconds left to complete Ballard's comeback from down nine entering the fourth quarter.
Fleischmann was 5-of-12 from long range in the game and led the Bombers (24-1) with 19 points. Brooke Loewe added 16 points, seven rebounds and five steals.
Madison Camden scored a game-high 20 points for Glenwood (21-4). She was 4-of-8 from 3-point range. Jenna Hopp had 14 points and 11 rebounds.

CLASS 2A CHAMPIONSHIP
No. 2 Dike-New Hartford 47, No. 1 Maquoketa Valley 42
Dike-New Hartford started the fourth quarter on a 12-2 run to take a 37-35 lead, its first since it was 2-0. Ellary Knock hit the go-ahead 3 with 5:53 left and the Wolverines (26-0) never trailed again.
Maquoketa Valley (25-1) led 25-17 at halftime and stretched it to 11 early in the third quarter. Taya Tucker led the Wildcats with 14 points, all in the first half, and 11 rebounds.
Knock and Taylor Kvale led Dike-New Hartford with 12 points apiece. Payton Peterson was named all-tournament captain; she had eight points, six rebounds and three steals in the final.

CLASS 1A CHAMPIONSHIP
No. 2 Newell-Fonda 66, No. 1 Algona Garrigan 52
Newell-Fonda (26-1) won its third straight state title, beating Algona Garrigan (25-2) in the final for the second year in a row and avenging a 66-45 regular-season loss in the process.
Macy (17) and Bailey (14) Sievers combined for 31 points, with Macy also tallying seven rebounds, four assists and three steals. Ella Larson filled up the stat sheet with seven points, nine rebounds, five assists and seven steals.
Newell-Fonda jumped out to a 16-5 lead and, although Garrigan cut it to 18-15 after one, never trailed.
Audi Crooks led the Golden Bears with 25 points on 9-of-11 shooting and 15 rebounds.
