EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation has a brand-new Exercise Science Program, and it’s the first of its kind in the State of Indiana.

Officials say there are no other exercise science programs in the state of Indiana, and this is the first two-year program in the state of Indiana.

“It’s new, it’s really good and actually is different from pre professional and everybody should actually try it because basically you learn the same things in the pre professional class but a lot more hands on,” said student Tate Wilson.

School officials say the class will count as a dual credit course which will count for college credit.

“Our dual credits are, they follow us into college so if we finish out this program and pass our classes we do most likely get to start basically as a sophomore in college,” said student Brooklyn Quick.

School instructor Julie Stucki says their goal is to have students see the importance of their community.
