No. 8 Oklahoma and No. 13 Baylor are knotted up 7-7 at the end of the first half as both teams sit with fewer than 150 offensive yards each and have combined to three missed field goals.
Baylor held Oklahoma to just 131 yards and 4.5 yards per play in the first half. The Bears' defense has bottled up freshman quarterback Caleb Williams, who has just 65 yards passing and 20 yards rushing. Of note, two of Lincoln Riley's three worst offensive outputs at Oklahoma were against Dave Aranda-coached defenses.
Baylor has 147 yards and averaging 4.5 yards per play, but it's run four more plays and held the ball for nearly three more minutes. Receiver Tyquan Thornton posted 41 yards and the lone touchdown while running back Abram Smith has 44 yards rushing.
A Sooners win would likely vault them towards the top five and virtually clinch a spot in the Big 12 Championship Game with two contests remaining. As a two-loss team, Baylor needs a win to keep its conference championship hopes alive.
