Michigan vs. Penn State score: Live game updates, college football scores, NCAA top 25 highlights - CBSSports.com

No. 6 Michigan leads Penn State 7-6 at halftime of a Big Ten East showdown that's been a lot more interesting than the score might suggest. Penn State struck first, using a fake punt on its second possession to extend the drive which resulted in a field goal to take a 3-0 lead. Penn State would return to the trickery later in the first quarter and attempted a fake field goal on a fourth-and-goal. It did not work nearly as well the second time around, however.

As for the Wolverines, their offense was unable to get anything going on its first few possessions before putting together a 90-yard touchdown drive in the second quarter to take the lead on a 21-yard TD pass from Cade McNamara to Roman Wilson. Penn State would tack on another field goal just before halftime to cut the deficit to one.

If you're a Penn State fan, though, you have to be worried. The Nittany Lions offense has run 44 plays, and the Michigan defense has stifled the unit with eight tackles for loss and five sacks at the half. It's hard to imagine Penn State putting together sustained drives without being able to keep Aidan Hutchinson and David Ojabo out of the backfield on every snap.

CBS Sports will be with you the entire way updating this story with the latest scores, analysis and highlights from the second half.
