The stakes are ratcheting up this week in college football as teams jockey for positioning in the first batch of College Football Playoff rankings that will be released Tuesday. The headliner is No. 3 Ohio State's game with No. 9 Indiana, but several other teams with playoff aspirations will be in action as well.
While No. 4 Clemson's game at Florida State was postponed hours before kickoff, No. 1 Alabama, No. 6 Florida, No. 7 Cincinnati, No. 8 BYU, No. 10 Wisconsin and No. 11 Oregon will all be in action before the evening wave of games even arrives. It would likely take a significant upset at the top for someone other than the current top-four in the polls -- Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Clemson -- to crack the debut top four in the CFP rankings.
But it's been a crazy year, and with a ton of ranked teams in action Saturday, you can bet the mayhem will continue with highlight plays, upsets and tight finishes.
