The Tampa Bay Rays and Houston Astros will play Game 4 of their best-of-seven American League Championship Series on Wednesday evening. The Rays have a 3-0 advantage and are a victory away from winning the AL pennant for the second time in franchise history. Game 4's pitching matchup will see the Rays start young righty Tyler Glasnow while the Astros counter with veteran Zack Greinke.
Glasnow made 11 regular-season starts, posting a 4.08 ERA (104 ERA+) and 4.14 strikeout-to-walk ratio. He's also made three postseason starts, though one of those came on short rest in the Division Series against the New York Yankees. This could be the second consecutive year that he's on the mound for a series clincher involving these teams. He started Game 5 of the 2019 ALDS, in which the Astros won.
Greinke, who will be trying to keep Houston's hopes alive, started 12 times in the regular season. In those games, he compiled a 4.03 ERA (111 ERA+) and a 7.44 strikeout-to-walk ratio. This is Greinke's third start of the postseason, having started once per in the first two series. He's been dealing with some health issues, but it's worth noting that the Astros have had him face 18 batters on average. With Houston's season on the line, expect manager Dusty Baker to maintain a similarly quick hook on Wednesday. CBS Sports will be providing live updates throughout the game. You can find those below.
