Bermuda will begin their campaign to qualify for the 2024 ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup in Toronto, Canada, today.

Arnold Manders’s 14-player team have been handed a difficult start to the Americas Qualifier 50-overs contest, facing hotly tipped United States in the opening encounter at the Maple Leaf North-West Ground in King City.

Captain Zakao Hart, the Bailey’s Bay all-rounder, is among some exciting talent in the team who have impressed playing for their respective clubs in the 50 overs Premier Division.

Argentina and hosts Canada are the remaining countries taking part in the competition.

Each country will face one another twice with the winner of the round-robin tournament advancing to the World Cup in Sri Lanka next year.

Bermuda qualified for its first and only Under-19 World Cup to date under coach Manders, who also serves as BCB president, after being crowned ICC Americas champions at the 2007 regional qualifier in Toronto.
