Hospitality workers have been given complimentary access to the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute’s Ocean Discovery Centre until springtime.
Frontline hospitality ambassadors central to the industry can visit BUEI’s newest and most popular installations free from now until March 3, when there will be a reception for the workers.
They will also have a chance to enter a prize draw by sharing their BUEI experience over social media and tagging the institute @BUEIbermuda.
The offer is open to essential workers in hotels and restaurants, as well as entertainers, meeting planners and those involved in transportation and other visitor services.
“Over the past 25 years, BUEI has continually evolved to keep Bermuda’s marine history alive, support conservation and an appreciation for the ocean,” said Karla Lacey, BUEI CEO. “We hope that when visiting, everyone discovers something new to share about BUEI and our islands beautiful waters.”
A spokeswoman added: “We recognise the important role Bermuda’s frontline hospitality workers play in the visitor experience, both in the services they provide and the insights they’re able to share about our history, culture, and things to see and due.
“Visitors are more likely to place the greatest value on the recommendations of those who live where they travel and they tend to have the greatest interaction with locals in the hospitality industry, whether through their hotel or Airbnb, when dining out, or in a cab or riding the bus.
“Our aim is to ensure that those who engage most with visitors to Bermuda are able to share what BUEI has to offer, having experienced it themselves, with confidence.”
Access to installations include the Portholes of Discovery and the Jack Ligthbourne Shell Collection, as well as the Blue Echo Simulator, Shipwreck Gallery and Treasure Room.
The open house will run Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 4pm.
