The Washington Football Team and Carolina Panthers are battling in what is probably the game of the week, and it's been about the quarterbacks so far in this one. Cam Newton came out firing, as he led the Panthers 75 yards down the field on nine plays and hit D.J. Moore for a touchdown on the opening drive. His former teammate, Taylor Heinicke, then tied the game for Washington with an impressive 66-yard drive which he capped with a six-yard touchdown pass to Cam Sims.
Late in the second quarter, Newton recorded the play of the game, as he galloped for a 24-yard touchdown off a read option to retake the lead. The former MVP then ran to the 50-yard line, planted the ball and did his famous "Superman" celebration as the crowd erupted. That moment was short-lived, however, as Heinicke answered with a touchdown pass to Terry McLaurin on the very next drive to tie the game just before halftime.
