The Kansas City Chiefs are headed to the AFC title game for the third consecutive season. In defeating the Cleveland Browns, 22-17, the Chiefs will become the first AFC team to host a conference title game in three straight seasons.
The Chiefs held on despite being forced into four field goal attempts by a stingy Browns defense, and despite losing Patrick Mahomes to a concussion in the third quarter. Backup Chad Henne came on in relief of Mahomes, and made just enough plays to seal the win -- including a fantastic 13-yard run on third-and-14, followed by a fourth-and-1 conversion on a pass to Tyreek Hill to seal the victory.
The Browns put forth a valiant effort and nearly staged a comeback, only to see it fall short when they did not get the ball back after punting it to Kansas City with just over four minutes remaining.
