The No. 10-ranked High Point University men's golf team is down in South Carolina this week (Jan. 24-26) for the Any Given Tuesday Intercollegiate at Oak Point Golf Course on Kiawah Island.
The Field
Three other Big South schools and one former member will be joining the Panthers on the island as Charleston Southern, USC Upstate, and Winthrop are in the field, along with former Big South member Coastal Carolina.The rest of the field includes Florida Gulf Coast, Jacksonville State, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, and Morehead State.

Oak Point Golf Course
Oak Point is one of the many courses at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort and won the 2019 Charleston Golf Course Owners Association Course of the Year award. The course has been regressed in Paspalum to deliver a superior playing surface with strategic challenges through a refreshed design. Oak Point showcases undulating fairways and challenging greens to create a course that favors a thinking approach over raw power. Originally conceived by Clyde Johnston, Oak Point sits by the Kiawah River and Haulover Creek and is surrounded by a maritime forest.Format and Schedule
The tournament is a three-day event, starting on Sunday (Jan. 24) and continuing on Monday (Jan. 25) and Tuesday (Jan. 26) with 18 holes each day. Six golfers will be in action for each team, with the top four scores counting at the end of the event.If You're Not First, You're Last
High Point took part in the first official collegiate golf event in 2021 last week, defeating Gardner-Webb head-to-head in the Wrangle at the Tangle. The teams braved cold weather and steady rain that turned to sleet at times, with the Panthers edging out a six-stroke victory, 280-286.Top-10 Team
Take a look at the Golfweek men's team collegiate rankings this week and you'll see High Point University sitting at No. 10 on the list. The only other team in the AGT Intercollegiate field ranked by Golfweek is Coastal Carolina, entering Sunday at No. 46.Up Next: HPU has a week off before returning to the Palmetto State to participate in the Rains Development Intercollegiate at the Country Club of South Carolina in Florence, S.C. The two-day event takes place Feb. 6-7 and is hosted by Francis Marion, the first of two events hosted by the Patriots that will see the Panthers in the field.
