BLOOMFIELD, NJ--Two Bloomfield employees successfully completed the Cornell University eCornell course on Diversity and Inclusion at Work. Personnel Director Kim Duva and Jean-guy R. Lauture, Director of the Township of Bloomfield Department of Information Technology, received their certificates after completing the valuable course which provides an overview of the evolution of the management of diversity and inclusion and presents targeted and high-involvement diversity practices. It examines diversity in the contexts of teams and leaders, and it frames diversity in terms of current business and cultural challenges.

“This was a great opportunity, and I would like to thank our Administrator Matthew U. Watkins for his leadership in seeing the value of instilling the education of diversity and inclusion in our institutional framework. It is extremely important to point out that an organization is healthier with a great HR department and its strategic-level effort to demonstrate the positive of cultural impacts which can move not only each department but the entire institution forward.  I would like to thank Kim and congratulate her on the continual works, efforts and vision,” said Lauture, the first Bloomfield department head of color.
