The Baltimore Ravens have had a pretty awful week. They placed two starting offensive linemen on injured reserve, saw their top cornerback contract COVID-19, have a handful of other defensive starters be in close contact and also go on the Reserve/COVID-19 list for a bit . . . All on top of losing last Sunday to the rival Steelers. If anyone wanted to see what the Ravens were really made of this season, they’ll get a chance in Week 9 against the Indianapolis Colts.

Both Baltimore and Indianapolis enter this week at 5-2 and in the thick of the AFC playoff picture. This game will not only be a barometer for where each team stands this season but will undoubtedly impact the final playoff seeding come January.

That has us here at Ravens Wire a little divided. Some believe the Ravens overcome their issues to get the job done while others think it’s simply too much in one week. Check out each of our Ravens vs. Colts final score predictions below to see what we believe will happen today.

Matthew Stevens:

Ravens 32 – Colts 12

I’m backing up my bold prediction right here. I think the Ravens have a supremely talented team, they’ve just needed to figure out how to get everyone on the same page and play consistently for a full game. Though they have yet to really do that this season, I believe this is the week it finally happens.

The loss of Ronnie Stanley to a season-ending knee injury and people questioning the secondary with Marlon Humphrey out this week after testing positive for COVID-19 leads Baltimore to ride a wave of emotion to excellence.

The offense gets back to what worked last season, grinding games down on the ground and forcing opponents to load up the line of scrimmage only to see quarterback Lamar Jackson hit on intermediate throws to keep drives alive. The defense comes in ferocious and makes Colts quarterback Philip Rivers second guess his decision to sign with Indianapolis. The game is never really close with the Ravens going up by two scores early and never looking back.

Neil Dutton:

Ravens 17 – Colts 14

Two solid defenses, two offenses not quite hitting their straps. The Ravens should just have enough in their offensive arsenal to get past the Colts, but it won’t be one to live long the memory. I expect it to be a scrap right to the end.

James Trefry:

Colts 24 – Ravens 16

The Colts will jump out to a two-score lead going into the half. Lamar Jackson and Baltimore’s offense will get within striking distance in the final quarter, but ultimately the Ravens’ tough week with the COVID list will be too much for them to overcome.

Kevin Oestreicher:

Ravens 31 – Colts 30

The Baltimore Ravens are in a tough position after losing stars on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball in Ronnie Stanley and Marlon Humphrey. They also had seven defensive players miss practice for most of the week, and one of those players isn’t suiting up in starting linebacker L.J. Fort. However, I think Baltimore grinds out a tough win in an offensive shootout that will come down to a late Justin Tucker field goal.

Alex Bente:

Ravens 26 – Colts 23

The Ravens may be underpowered and seemingly outgunned in this matchup, but there’s a fight in this team that may be enough to get them over the edge. Reeling from last week’s devastating loss to Pittsburgh, Baltimore should find enough juice in the tank of not only its offense but undermanned defense this week to pull out a victory.
