Siblings snorkeling in Bermuda rescued by Massachusetts man

A West Bridgewater man has been called a "hero" in the weeks that have followed since he rescued two people at a Bermuda beach.

Allen Yannone, of West Bridgewater, told the Brockton Enterprise he helped return Paul Trenholm and his sister Anita Trenholm to shore after strong waves pinned them against a rock while they were snorkeling at Church Bay in Bermuda.

Yannone told the Enterprise that the siblings were a bit cut up and bleeding from being trapped near the rocks. He said he tried to calm them, gave them his life vest and guided them walking over the rocks before they all swam back to shore.

Patricia Trenholm, wife of Paul and sister-in-law to Anita, posted a photo to Facebook in the hopes of re-connecting with the West Bridgewater man, who was reportedly in Bermuda with his wife on a Norwegian cruise. On May 30, she announced the Internet world had helped the family find "Allen Y. from Boston."

"We owe him a huge debt of gratitude...People had Passed this around and the Trenholm family found our hero! Thanks to all of you for sharing," Patricia wrote in a post.

Yannone told the Enterprise he does not view his actions as heroic. Instead, he said, "if anyone takes away anything, it's just do the right thing."
