CLINTON, N.Y. –
The Ithaca College men's and women's cross country teams officially got their 2022 seasons underway on September 10 as the Bombers ran in the Hamilton Short Course at the Hamilton College Golf Course. The women finished third out of seven teams and the men took fourth of seven teams in action.A total of 85 runners competed in the women's 4K race and 104 men participate in the 5K event.
The top five runners for the IC women totaled 80 points, behind St. Lawrence's 22 and Hamilton's 62. Jessica Goode paced the Bombers in ninth place overall with a time of 15:31.6, while Paloma De Monte followed in 10th at 15:33.6
Kyla Eisman was next to cross the finish for the Bombers, placing 19th with a time of 15:56.2 and Hannah Fichter took 20th in 15:56.4. Logan Brasacchio rounded out IC's scoring runners in 22nd as she clocked a time of 15:59.6.
Lauren Lobdell was 23rd overall in 16:05.5 and Julia Tomanovich placed 24th at 16:07.6.
In the men's race, Ithaca posted 112 points with its five entries finishing in the top 35. St. Lawrence won with 28 points, while Hamilton took second with 54 and Nazareth placed third with 64.
Danny Jagoe was IC's top finisher in fifth as he crossed the line in 15:51.7. Alex Whatley posted a time of 16:31.7 to come in 19th, while Ryan Medeiros was 21st in a time of 16:34.1.
Jonathan Sadanaga took 32nd overall in a time of 17:04.4 and Connor Goodwin placed 35th in 17:07.3.
Drew Taylor was 36th at 17:08.5 and Adam Mocho placed 37th in a time of 17:19.1.
Ithaca will return to action next Saturday, September 17 at the U of R Yellowjacket Invitational at the Genesee Valley Park.
