MEDINA, Ohio – 111 Bistro has scheduled a five-course California wine dinner on Thursday, May 12.
The dinner will highlight assorted wineries:
First course: Duck gumbo. Wine: The Hobo Wine Co. Folk Machine Riesling.
Second course: Branzino, citrus beurre blanc, farro. Wine: Submission Chardonnay. (Submission sources from all over California. This one has grapes from Sonoma, Russian River Valley, Carneros and Monterey County. The wine was cellared and bottled at 689 Cellars in Napa Valley. Submission also offers a Cabernet Sauvignon, red blend, Pinot Noir and Rose.)
Third course: Korean pork belly, stir-fry vegetable. Wine: Submission Pinot Noir. Grapes come from Monterey, Sonoma and Mendocino counties.
Fourth course: Lamb loin chop, potato pave, demi. Wine: McPrice Myers Bull by the Horns Cabernet Sauvignon.
Fifth course: Cherry coffee barbecued pulled pork, slaw. Wine: McPrice Myers High on the Hog red blend.
Cost is $75 ($50 without wine). Go online for reservations.
The restaurant suggests arriving by 6:15 p.m. as dinner is served promptly at 6:30 p.m. Diners with dietary restrictions should contact 111 Bistro to confirm the restaurant can accommodate.
