Team USA is expected to bring home the gold medal in men's basketball once the 2021 Tokyo Olympics get going later this month. However, you wouldn't know it based on how Gregg Popovich's group has performed in their first two exhibition games as the U.S. suffered surprising losses at the hands of Nigeria and Australia. With three exhibition games left before Team USA leaves for Japan, Kevin Durant and Co., hope for a better result on Tuesday night when they square off against Argentina in Las Vegas. While there is still plenty of basketball left to be played, Team USA is off to a hot start as they own a double-digit lead over Argentina after one quarter of action.
In both losses, the U.S. failed to get into any sort of offensive rhythm, especially in crunch time as both Australia and Nigeria managed to pull off upsets.
