Thanks to some Fourth of July festivities with friends, I missed most of today’s game. Probably wasn’t a bad move.
Adbert Alzolay appears to have been solid, but the offense continues its almost unbelievable slide. You’ll recall, they were the worst offense in baseball in June, and one of the worst Cubs offenses in the history of the organization (for a calendar month). Was hoping the returns of Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo would at least break THAT up, but two more games of the same story, including a perverse volume of strikeouts. Good games for Bryant, at least.
So that’s eight losses in a row now, which is neat …
